"The Flintshire White Pheasant was developed over a 10 year selective breeding program."
Early in our company history, we discovered the need for a superior Pheasant for the meat industry. Ring-neck Pheasants have excellent flavor but are difficult to process. Pigment that makes the feathers dark often is left behind during the plucking process. This leaves unsightly "ink spots" in the meat.
A Flintshire Ring-neck Pheasant
As in other poultry, developing a white bird would be the answer to pigment spotting. After 15 years of selective breeding the Flintshire White Pheasant was a reality- and we never looked back!
